Dillon is lucky enough to get two days almost consecutively dedicated to him in the month of June. Two days to indulge in our guy - we sure don’t mind.
First up was Father’s Day on Sunday.
^^No Father’s Day is complete without homemade cards.
It’s like Hunter really knew it wouldn’t be just any ol’ Sunday because he was up and ready to celebrate at 6:30. We let daddy finish his beauty sleep and got started on breakfast.
^^French toast only happens on days dedicated to Dil since it’s his favorite.
We presented breakfast in bed complete with french toast, fresh juice, blueberries and coffee and tried our hardest not to drip on the bedspread (that didn’t happen). These things always go so much smoother in the movies.
Hunter helped his daddy open the few small gifts we got him - a beer bottle opener, personalized cuff links and a handmade coupon to pick out a new tie (which we almost promptly headed out the door to do).
^^Let’s talk about this shirt. I don’t usually dress my boy in such cheesy things, but it was a mixture of the Target clearance rack, Dillon’s love for super heros and the fact that it was Father’s Day weekend that got me. But let’s face it, he’s just about the cutest superhero I’ve ever seen. Especially when he started flying!
After a nap and some lunch on the deck, we be-bopped around the area, starting in Worcester (just a few towns over). I’ve been itching to check out Crompton Collectives (vintage, antique & handmade goodness!) since before I even knew we’d be living in the area. I’m so lucky Dillon enjoys these things too and was more than happy to spend a sliver of his Father’s Day there.
ps: it was better than i’d hoped it would be! I will be back.
Before heading back home we walked through Worcester a bit, making a list of places we wanted to come back to as we went.
^^Then this happened. Seriously, make these.
^^And then this! The boy’s first corn on the cob. I mean, his parents are native Iowans, we should have expected he’d be a natural.
^^Ended the day with some snuggling on the deck.
THEN just 2 days later, it was time to celebrate our favorite guy’s birthday!
It was just a regular ol’ Tuesday, but we spiced it up with an outdoor lunch and presents.
And ended the day with birthday ice cream, of course. The best way to end any day, if you ask us.
